Advancing Leadership
Shaping Change
"We want to dream big to build on our excellence and we want to ensure the association's longevity through relevance, inclusivity, and leadership."
—Patricia Telles-Irvin, NASPA President
At its July 2011 meeting, the NASPA Board of Directors approved Advancing Leadership, Shaping Change, NASPA's strategic plan for 2011-2014. The strategic planning was guided first and foremost by member input, including all that was learned through the exploration of consolidation; feedback gathered from regions, divisions, knowledge communities, and other constituent groups; and more than 1,200 responses to the survey sent to all members to inform the Board's thinking.
As the result of a generous gift by the NASPA Foundation, the board's strategic planning process was led by highly skilled facilitators from Keeling & Associates, an experienced, comprehensive higher education consulting firm. The plan is designed to be both aspirational — setting forth a long-term, strategic vision — and sustainable in its practical, timely, and relevant goals to be accomplished within a three-year timeframe and serve as a clear roadmap for NASPA's future direction.
