Assess Your Campus Need
Do your student services employees have the appropriate professional preparation to be successful as they meet the needs of changing student demographics in community and two-year colleges?
Would you like to offer a staff development program for your student services employees, but lack the financial resources to implement a comprehensive program?
The Student Service Institute for Community Colleges, sponsored by NASPA, offers a low-cost, staff development program for your entire student services staff, right on your campus, using notable experts in the field of Student Affairs, often from your area.
NASPA is the leading voice for student affairs administration, policy, and practice with over 10,000 members nationally and internationally. The Association has much to be proud of with its outstanding professional development programs; its well-attended annual national conference, its advocacy for higher education through public policy, and its strong volunteer participation.
Distinctive for its open door admissions policies, workforce training and responses to changing needs in society, the community and two-year colleges have secured their place in the history of higher education in America. These institutions continue to be the primary door to accessibility and educational opportunity, while insuring diversity in post-secondary education.
The SSI was designed specifically to address the needs of professionals and para-professionals working in community and two-year colleges. These institutions were selected as the target niche for professional development training by NASPA because these schools, too often, have limited budgets for staff development, but at the same time, may have a greater need to train their staff, many of whom have limited training to work with community and two-year college students.
NASPA stands ready to address your professional development needs by providing training that will inform your staff and prepare them for future challenges.
