South Mountain Hiking Excursion
Complement your Southwest experience by hiking in South Mountain Park, the largest municipal park in the country. The hike will be along the Kiwanis Trail which is home to several Sonoran Desert plants and animals. Hikers will also see petroglyphs in rocks and capture great views of the city of Phoenix. This hike is a perfect way to start off the day and is suitable for many levels of hikers.
The South Mountain Hike Excursion does require a commute from downtown to the mountain; therefore, participants must register for this event. Registration cost is $10 per person. The registration deadline is Friday, February 10, 2012.
Plan to meet in the Hyatt hotel lobby at 6:30 am with a departure time of 6:45 am on Monday, March 12, 2012. Believe it or not, Phoenix can get chilly in the early morning hours in mid-March, so bring clothes that are comfortable to wear hiking but will also keep you warm!
