Why did you choose your graduate institution?

Clemson University is in a part of the country that I am not familiar with. I found this idea very appealing to further diversify my experiences. However, my initial interest and eventual selection of this program was a result of my friend, mentor, and former supervisor, Dr. Heather Schneller. She attended Clemson University as a graduate student and served as the primary influential force that began my interest in Student Affairs.

Why did you want to go to graduate school?

I wanted to attend graduate school to be able to continue my education as well as my experiences within the field of Student Affairs.

What area(s) of Student Affairs interest you most?

As of right now my interests consist of: Recruitment, Transition Programs, and Housing. Recently I’ve been seeking out experiences with Student-Athletes and feel this is an area that I would like to explore more of.

What are your hobbies?

I really enjoy playing music. I majored in music as an undergrad and this is a part of me that is still very important to me. I also love participating in intramurals, and playing with my new puppy!

If you could take a year off from work/school what would you do?

If I could take a year off from work/school I would use that time to travel abroad and immerse myself in a new culture. I would love to go to Australia or Europe!

What is your secret passion?

My secret passion is college student-athlete recruiting. It started as hobby to keep up with potential college recruits at Arkansas but then I suddenly found myself reading up on statistics, rankings, and commitments all the time. After working in student affairs and becoming close with a few of the college athletes here at Clemson, I now I see the student development component of recruiting and how vital it is to fit the student with the right institution and the appropriate support system.

What you would like to be remembered for?

I want to be remembered as someone who cared with every bit of their being. I feel my ability to form relationships is one of my strongest attributes and I find that this interaction gives me the most motivation.
