Why did you choose your graduate institution?

I chose to attend Florida State University because of the many opportunities for mentorship. Faculty and staff throughout the University have given me personalized professional development opportunities which are not available at other institutions. Additionally, FSU’s “LifeNet” has been an immense source of support during my graduate school experience and will translate to my professional career.

Why did you want to go to graduate school?

Many mentors at my undergraduate institution supported my interest in being a student affairs practitioner and directed me to attend graduate school. In addition to furthering my development as a professional, graduate school has also confirmed my love of learning and passion for contemporary issues facing higher education.

What area(s) of Student Affairs interest you most?

The areas that interest me most are Residence Life, Career Services, Student Conduct, Admissions, and Academic Advising.

What are your hobbies?

As an avid sports fan, I love going to local sporting events or watching them with friends. I also spend time hiking in the Tallahassee area, reading, and cooking.

If you could take a year off from work/school what would you do?

I would love to spend a year in Italy participating in archeological digs during the day and attending cooking school at night.

What is your secret passion?

As you may have guessed from the question above, I’m extremely passionate about ancient civilizations and classical languages. I enjoy the interdisciplinary nature of the field and how lessons from Greece and Rome are applicable to many contemporary issues. Eventually I hope to earn my Ph.D. in Classics.

What you would like to be remembered for?

Thomas Jefferson once said, “Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom”. I hope that my commitment to living honorably and honestly creates wisdom for those who follow.
