Showcase Your Program for Adult Learners and Students with Children

September 21, 2016

In 2016, the Adult Learners and Students with Children Knowledge Community presented its first national awards to two outstanding programs that support the experience of nontraditional learners. The winner of the Outstanding Adult Learner Program was Off Campus Connections at the University of Arkansas, and the winner of a program for student parents was the Student Parent Help Center at the University of Minnesota. Both universities received national recognition at NASPA in Indianapolis, with an awards reception and the University administrators of each institution were sent letters of praise for the outstanding work their staff and faculty are doing for adult learners.

We are excited that the application season is here and applications for the 2017 awards will be accepted through the October 31st deadline. Additionally, we have added a research grant to support the work of our colleagues and graduate students who are helping all of us understand this population and the importance of serving these students in the 21st century.

Do not miss this opportunity to showcase the outstanding work you do for these students. You, or your institution, must be a member of NASPA however you do not need to be a member of the ALSC KC for consideration.
