Welcome from Region III Coordinator, Brandy Propst

Region III Region III
July 6, 2015

Dear Fellows,

It is with great pleasure, that I welcome you to the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP) and Region III! As the NUFP Region III Coordinator, I am excited that you have chosen to explore the field of student affairs.

I am proud to say that I am a M/NUFP alum! My journey into student affairs began as an undergraduate student and NUFP Fellow at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in 2003. As a fellow, I received an awesome opportunity to attend the Summer Leadership Institute (SLI), now known as the Dungy Leadership Institute (DLI), in 2007 at Texas A & M University.  SLI confirmed that I made the right decision to enter student affairs as a profession and allowed me to create lasting relationships with fellows and respected student affairs professionals from around the country. I have continued to support the program that has helped shape me into the student affairs professional that I am today. In addition to the Region III Coordinator, I currently serve as the Alumni Committee Chair for the NUFP Advisory Board and have served as a facilitator for the Undergraduate Student Pre-Conference at the 2014 NASPA Annual Conference. As a way to pay it forward and to ensure that more underrepresented populations are given a seat at the table in the field of student affairs, I am looking forward to assisting you as much as possible during your journey into the profession.

My hope is that you will take full advantage of this opportunity to learn as much as possible about the student affairs profession through the use of the numerous resources provided to you by NUFP, such as your mentor, DLI, summer internships, and the opportunity to attend regional and national NASPA conferences. I want to be a resource for you and your mentor, and I am here to help you achieve the goals you have set for your NUFP experience. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions about NUFP, Region III, NASPA, or student affairs in general.

I look forward to connecting with you as a part of the NUFP family!

Sincerely,

Brandy S. Propst, M.Ed.
