Foundation chair-Elect frank ardaiolo
Frank Ardaiolo has been the Vice President for Student Life at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, for the past twenty three years where he oversees a broad portfolio of student related areas at this public comprehensive institution of some 6500 students. He has been instrumental in moving his institution's focus more on student learning while creating cross-functional structures to bridge the efforts between academic affairs and student affairs. His doctorate was received from Indiana University in higher education, student affairs, political science, and African studies. Dr. Ardaiolo is also an Associate Professor and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses ranging from freshman seminars to African politics to college legal issues at varying institutions. He has published more than 30 monograph chapters, articles and essays on legal issues, quality improvement, adult learners, student affairs/academic affairs collaboration, and African politics. Frank has held associate dean and dean positions at Belmont Abbey College, the University of South Carolina, and the University of Connecticut. Raised in Liberia and Portugal, he is a recognized expert on Liberia and was a UN sanctioned presidential election monitor in 2005 that ended the Liberian civil war. Active in his Rock Hill community, he is the former chair of the city's Committee on Human Relations and the Board of Directors of the International Center of York County. He currently serves on the Board of Keystone Substance Abuse Services.
Frank has been very active in NASPA including being a Regional Director, Inaugural Director of the Aspiring SSAO Institute, faculty member for the Student Services Institute, chair of NASPA initiatives involving benchmarking, services for international members, fee structure, and many regional activities.
He has been married to his wife, Joleen, for the past thirty three years and they are the proud parents of three college graduates and two labradoodles!
