Make a Gift
Every donor can help shape the future of student affairs through a tax-deductible contribution to the NASPA Foundation. A gift of any size will enable the Foundation to expand the support it has given to new and innovative programs which inform us and prepare us for our future in higher education.
Donors may consider a variety of designations for their gifts:
- Pillars of the Profession membership: Pillars are designated by the NASPA Foundation Board. Eligible candidates must be nominated by a NASPA member and at least $2,500 must be contributed in the nominee's name prior to being designated a Pillar. All Pillars are recognized at a reception at the annual conference.
- Single Occasion Gift: Donations will be accepted in any amount at any time. For convenience, a NASPA member may make a donation on the Membership Renewal Form or may Give Online.
- Bequests: Naming the NASPA Foundation as a beneficiary of any insurance policy or in your final will and testament is possible; copies of the appropriate documents naming the NASPA Foundation must be filed with the Foundation Office.
- Royalties Pledge: Authors may designate a portion of their royalties from publications. Copies of the appropriate documents naming the NASPA Foundation must be filed with the Foundation Office.
- Restricted Gifts: Donors may offer gifts as unrestricted and for the general use of the Foundation, or designate their gifts to support the following restricted endowments:
- Melvene Hardee Fund: supports the Dissertation of the Year Award;
James Rhatigan Fund: supports research on the history and philosophy of student affairs;
Robert H. Shaffer Fund: supports a stipend for the tenured faculty member who receives the annual Robert H. Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member;
Ruth Strang Award: supports and recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions to the body of literature concerning women in higher education;
Zenobia Hikes Scholarship: supports a stipend for a NASPA member who otherwise would not be able to attend the Alice Manicur Symposium due to the fact the applicant's institution cannot support her attendance financially.;
