DATE: Sunday, March 11, 2012
TIME: FULL DAY from 9am-4pm
LOCATION: Phoenix Convention Center *

Presenters: Katie O’Dair, Boston College and Annemieke Rice, StudentVoice
With increasing calls for internal and external
accountability, it is imperative that administrators in graduate and
professional student services be able to understand and apply assessment
practices within their work, to gather evidence on student learning and
the student experience. This pre-conference workshop will help
participants understand the basic process for assessment planning, will
explore learning outcomes development, discuss the political and
practical implications of sharing your data, and allow participants to
develop an assessment plan of their own.
Background and Workshop Overview
This workshop will essentially be organized in
two distinct sessions. The first part of the pre-conference will be
focused on Key Issues in Graduate and Professional Student Services, as
participants will break out in small groups with structured discussions
being led by a facilitator. The critical issues will be identified
prior to the conference through polling the AGAPSS constituency. Each
group will generate key points, resources, and best practices through a
template.
