Universal Design in Education: Planning for a Diverse Population

This session was presented by Kaela Parks, University of Alaska Anchorage

Anticipating diversity in our student population requires planning. As Student Affairs professionals we know that the environments, activities, and information we provide for students will potentially be accessed by a full and naturally varied population. This session outlined a framework called Universal Design that can be used to reduce barriers and promote full participation on the part of all students. Principles, practices, examples, and resources are shared.
