GLBT Knowledge Community Announcements

The NASPA GLBT KC is very excited to for the activities, sessions, and workshops we are sponsoring at the upcoming NASPA conference in Seattle.  We are presnting a pre-conference workshop, Trans/gender Identities & Experiences: A Workshop Focused on Personal Reflection & Professional Practices, planning an LGBT Historical Tour of Seattle, our annual gathering, and multiple sessions.  For detailed information on each exciting event, check out the GLBT KC at NASPA National Conference page.

About Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Issues

The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Issues Knowledge Community provides avenues for both social and professional involvement. Knowledge Community activities allow for personal and professional growth, increased awareness and acceptance of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender professionals and students, and promote understanding of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender professional and student needs.

To get involved with the Knowledge Community, feel free to do the following:

  1. Join the Knowledge Community by clicking “membership” from the NASPA homepage, then select “Update Membership Profile & Preferences” and scroll to “Knowledge Community Preferences.”
  2. Join the Knowledge Community Listserv by clicking on “Interact” from the NASPA homepage, then click on “Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues.” This will launch a blank email that you can send in.
  3. Contact the National Co-Chairs with your interest and think about joining one of the following committees:
            • Awards Committee 2008
            • Workshop Review Committee 2008
            • Social Committee 2008
            • Assessment Committee
            • Contact your Regional KC Chair to discuss how you might be helpful in your geographic region.
  4. Make sure to attend Regional and National conferences and attend the GLBT Issues Knowledge Community events!
