Vision:
The vision of the Student Affairs Development and External Relations Knowledge Community is to enable NASPA members to develop fundraising knowledge and skills to enhance programs and services for Student Affairs at their individual institutions
Mission:
- To provide development professionals working in (or connected with) Student Affairs a "home" within NASPA
- To provide Senior Student Affairs Officers a place to connect for the latest fundraising strategies and information
- To sponsor an annual smaller best practice based conference for professionals to exchange fundraising knowledge
- To enhance connections from different regions throughout the United States and abroad, different types of institutions and across a variety of functional areas of Student Affairs (i.e. Housing, Union, etc.)
Goals:
- Recruit National Chair Elect
- Continue to recruit membership for leadership team as needed
- Organize a 2 ½ day conference in Atlanta for the Fall of 2008 (October)
- Recruit new members through national and regional conferences and colleagues from our individual and neighboring institutions
- Organize the first round of conference sessions at regional and NASPA national 2008 – 2009
- Increase technology use through learning from the other Knowledge Communities the best practices for member outreach
