On today’s increasingly complex campuses, it is vital that university administrators appreciate and understand the myriad legal and regulatory issues that impact their work. We anticipate that a wide variety of student-affairs professionals — ranging from entry-level to senior professionals — will benefit from this program. The program is designed to provide student-affairs professionals with a foundation to identify legal issues that impact their work and a structure to work with others on and off campus to resolve legal and law-related issues. Although we will address various “hot topics,” our philosophy is to cover core legal concepts that will help participants work through recurring issues. For more information on the program, curriculum, distance-learning and live components, please see the Information Sheet.

This 40-hour intensive Certificate Program in Student Affairs Law and Policy combines both state-of-the-art distance-education technology and live, residentially based instruction at Stetson University College of Law in Tampa, Florida.

  • Introduction to Law and the Legal System

  • Torts, Contracts, and Property Law
