Institute for New Senior Student Affairs Officers

sponsored by the James E. Scott Academy for Leadership and Executive Effectiveness

Aspiring to be a new SSAO by next year's Institute?
Attend the Institute for Aspiring SSAOs in January, and move closer to realizing your goal.

Held October 5-7, 2008, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, the Institute for New Senior Student Affairs Officers was a resounding success. More than 30 new SSAOs met to network with one another and tap the expertise of the Institute’s faculty - all highly experienced SSAOs from a diverse group of institutions. These senior-level leaders were challenged to broaden their perspectives on critical issues, and insights and knowledge needed to effectively manage new responsibilities and constituents were shared. • staff management
  • campus culture and politics
  • working relationships and cabinet fundamentals
  • strategic planning
  • legal issues
  • financial management
  • crisis management
  • professional and personal balance
