Admissions Requirements
To be considered for admission to the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program, each applicant must meet the requirements listed below, have a NASPA member agree to serve as a mentor, and have the support of their institution's Senior Student Affairs Officer.
- Identify as a member of a historically disenfranchised student population, i.e. Black/African American, Asian, Hispanic/Latino(a), Indigenous (Native American, Alaskan, Hawaiian), Multiethnic, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or as having a disability; and
- Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application. Applicants with a 2.7 cumulative GPA will receive preference in the review process.
Application Process
Applications must be faxed to the NASPA office at (202)204-6079 and received by April 23, 2010. There are no exceptions. Both the fellow and mentor will receive a confirmation email once the application has been processed. Applications are reviewed by the NUFP Regional Coordinator in the applicant's institution’s region. A recommendation on the application is made to the NUFP Board Chair who then makes the final decision.
Please make sure to download each of these forms and fill in all fields. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed:
- Copy of current transcript (official or unofficial) with cumulative GPA circled
- Two letters of recommendation from two staff members or faculty at your institution, other than your proposed mentor.
