Program Overview
Keynote speakers and presenters for this program addressed the unique needs of today's Latino/a college students and offered research-based strategies for student affairs administrators in effectively supporting this diverse student population. Speakers and educational sessions focused on supporting Latino/a student success by:

  • Strengthening the K thru 16 pipeline;
  • Connecting community colleges and four-year institutions;
  • Improving campus climate through student affairs and academic affairs partnerships;
  • Working with potential and current Latino/a students, as well as their families, around college admissions, financial aid, and student life.

The NASPA Latino/a Knowledge Community actively promotes the empowerment of NASPA members through education, research, shared knowledge, mentoring initiatives, and the use of online forums to disseminate information and facilitate discourse.

Excelencia in Education! dentifies, analyzes, and disseminates information on effective higher education practices for Latinos, assesses the impact of federal, state, and institutional policies on Latino achievement in higher education, and assists policymakers, higher education administrators, and other stakeholders improve opportunities for Latino students to succeed in postsecondary education.

The Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education is a professional association committed to the improvement of educational and employment opportunities for Hispanics in higher education.
