Mini-Institutes
Mini-Institute #1: Women Talk Tech
Kristen Abell, University of Missouri-Kansas City / Cindy Kane, Bridgewater State University / Jennifer Keegin, Binghamton University
It's no secret that technology has been a tough field for women to break into, and even harder for them to stay. In the past several years, there have been many strides made for women in this field. But what is the current state of affairs for women in student affairs who are interested or skilled with technology? What are the challenges that face women, and how can they move past them? This mini-institute will examine common obstacles that keep women from succeeding in technology at their institutions, as well as facilitate discussion on how women can overcome those obstacles.
