2010 NASPA Scholar-Mentor Program – Seeking Scholars

The new Scholar-Mentor Program, modeled after the successful "Panel of Listeners" program, provides an opportunity to bring together faculty (both full-time and adjunct) and practitioner-scholars with up-and-coming scholars to meet and share ideas. Faculty/practitioner-scholars may be asked to share their experiences and expertise with program participants (graduate students and/or professional staff with scholarly/research interests) who wish to discuss their research, faculty career plans, or life as a full-time administrator and adjunct faculty member. Faculty would be asked to share their expertise in a consultative way. Practitioners may come with a project idea, or even a research project in progress to gather advice from the Scholar-Mentor. Full-time and adjunct faculty members as well as practitioner-scholars are invited to serve as Scholar-Mentors during the 2010 NASPA Annual Conference and meet with graduate students or practitioners for 30 minutes during the conference in Chicago.

Individuals interested in serving as Scholar-Mentors can contact Susan Longerbeam or Mimi Benjamin. Participants will be invited to sign up for the program in January.
