About the Institute:

The Mid-Manager’s Institute is a unique professional development experience presented by a partnership between SACSA and NASPA Region III. It offers an opportunity for promising mid-level professionals to enhance and develop the skills, relationships, and dispositions that distinguish them in the profession and enable them to make more meaningful contributions to the people and programs they serve.

Participants are refreshed and encouraged by the opportunity to discuss the charms and challenges of middle-management with other mid-managers and are inspired by the lessons they learn from mentors, speakers, and one another.

The Institute includes a wide variety of interactive learning experiences like seminars, mentor group discussions, field trips, case studies, and much more, on topics that are immediately applicable to each participant’s life and work. Past topics include:

  • The twists and turns of institutional culture,
  •  The secrets of exceptional supervision
  • Tactics for surviving and inspiring change,
  • Principles of balance and personal stability,
  • Lessons of leadership and collaborative action
  • Methods for leveraging learning,
  • Tips for collaboration with colleagues in curricular and co-curricular contexts
  • Much more…
