    Regional Conference

Graduate Student Representative

Board Term

  • Current graduate student serves on the IV-West Advisory Board through May 31 of the second year of their term
  • New graduate student begins their term by attending the summer board meeting at the site of the regional conference for the following November and will serve from May through May of the next year, as this will provide overlap between the graduate students

Requirements

  • Be admitted to a higher education masters program at an institution within Region IV-West
  • Must be in their first year of graduate coursework and be a full-time graduate student
  • Be able to attend the national conference, summer advisory board meeting, and regional conference

Benefits to Being the Graduate Student Representative

  • Networking opportunities are constantly presented by attending the regional conference, summer board meeting, and national conference.
  • This position is the voice of the graduate student population for Region IV-West.
  • This position will assist with decisions being made for Region IV-West during meetings and conference calls.
  • Financial support is given by Region IV-West to attend the conferences and meetings.

Financial Commitment by Region IV-West

$1000 to cover the following:

  • Hotel for summer board meeting
  • Registration fee and hotel for the Region IV-West Conference
  • Registration fee and hotel for the National Conference

Application Process

  • The application deadline of January 6, 2012 has passed. Applicants will be notified by January 20th of the results.
