AZ NASPA Executive Board

The AZ NASPA Executive Board was recently restructured to better serve the needs of the organization. Below are position descriptions for the various committees that comprise the board, including the name, title, and contact information of the respective committee chairs. Board members serve for two years. Responsibilities for all positions include participating in monthly conference calls, submitting an annual report, enlisting volunteers and coordinating and collaborating with other Executive Board members as needed.  Attendance at the NASPA Western Regional Conference is encouraged.

Development for New Professionals and Graduate Students
VACANT

  • Coordinate educational workshops, seminars, drive-in conferences, and other professional development activities on issues relevant to NASPA's new professionals and graduate students in preparation programs
  • Communicate, collaborate and partner with Executive Board colleagues
  • Market professional development opportunities via listserves, websites, newsletters and other forms of communication in order to reach members across the state
  • Actively seek out professional development opportunities across the state and serve as the communication link between organizers and members across the state

Development for Experienced Professionals and SSAO's
VACANT

  • Coordinate educational workshops, seminars, drive-in conferences, and other professional development activities on issues relevant to NASPA's experienced and senior members
  • Communicate, collaborate and partner with Executive Board colleagues

Knowledge Community Liaison

  • Gather contact information of all KC chairs and post that list on the sub-regional website
  • Market events, activities and educational opportunities sponsored by KC chairs via listservs, websites, newsletters, and other forms of communication in order to reach members across the state
  • Communicate all state activities to the KC Regional Chair, AZ Co- Chairs and Communications Chair
  • Recruit members to become active in KCs

Communications Chair

  • Create a calendar of all relevant NASPA events, activities, workshops, etc.
  • Create and edit / maintain sub-regional website
  • Create, edit / maintain, and send out quarterly electronic newsletter to state members
  • Maintain and coordinate listserve of state members

Membership Chair

  • Work closely with the Regional Membership Coordinator and the NASPA office staff to maintain all individual and institutional membership records and dues payment information
  • Send letters or e-mails of outreach to Arizona NASPA members
  • Send out letters of outreach to Arizona Student Affairs professionals who are not members of NASPA
  • Follow-up with Arizona NASPA members who have not renewed
  • Establish contact with new Arizona members with welcome letter

Senior Advisors

  • Advise NASPA on critical issues in student affairs across Arizona
  • Must hold senior-level student affairs position
  • Must have at least 5 years of leadership experience with NASPA
