ACPA/NASPA Call for Programs Reminder!

Our Power and Responsibility to Shape Education provides the thematic focal point for the 2007 ACPA/NASPA Joint Meeting March 31–April 4, 2007 in Orlando, Fla. The 2007 Joint Meeting represents an extraordinary opportunity to join together as a profession to examine current issues and harness our collective power and responsibility to shape education today and in the future. The Joint Meeting Program Committee invites you to help shape a rich and stimulating meeting agenda by submitting a proposal for a general interest session, pre-meeting workshop, sponsored program or roundtable. Seeking Hardee Dissertation of the Year Applicants

The Hardee Dissertation of the Year Award is designed to encourage high-quality research relevant to the field of college student services administration and the general field of student affairs, and to recognize outstanding dissertation research conducted by doctoral degree recipients presently in or intending to enter the student affairs profession.

Requirements: Entrants to the Hardee Award competition must have completed their dissertation and had their degree conferred between September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2006.

NASPA Annual Awards

NASPA National Awards honor prominent higher education and student affairs leaders for their contributions to the profession. Any NASPA member may nominate an individual for a NASPA National Award. Please complete the online nomination process for each nominee. Nominations are due November 1, 2006. Nominate a deserving individual today!

President-Elect Nominations Wanted

Do you have a mentor or a VPSA who is phenomenal? Does this person take great pride in his or her NASPA affiliation? The Nominations Committee needs your assistance! We are looking for innovative and dynamic individuals who are leaders in the field. Your nomination of the president-elect may help impact the future of our profession. Nominees must be professional affiliate (voting delegates are included) or a faculty affiliate at a member institution and must have demonstrated leadership in NASPA and commitment to the association. Your nomination is due to the NASPA office by November 1, 2006.

The new president-elect will assume the presidency at the annual conference in 2008. As a current NASPA member, you may submit your nomination by sending a letter describing the nominee's achievements, contributions, and resume to:

NAGPS Call for Proposals

The National Association of Graduate and Professional Students is presenting its 20th Anniversary Conference. It will be hosted by the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., November 16–19, 2006. NAGPS conferences are the largest graduate and professional student conferences representing the voices of over 2 million graduate and professional students.

NAGPS calls for panel and paper proposals on all aspects of graduate student life: graduate student association best programs, graduate student engagement, graduate services and training graduate teaching assistants. Submissions for individual or panelist presentation are welcome. The deadline for proposals is October 2, 2006. Visit the NAGPS Web site for more information.
