President-Elect Nominations Wanted

Do you have a mentor or a VPSA who is phenomenal? Does this person take great pride in his or her NASPA affiliation? The Nominations Committee needs your assistance! We are looking for innovative and dynamic individuals who are leaders in the field. Your nomination of the president-elect may help impact the future of our profession. Nominees must be professional affiliates (voting delegates are included) or faculty affiliates at a member institution and must have demonstrated leadership in NASPA and commitment to the association. Your nomination is due to the NASPA office by November 1, 2006. The new president-elect will assume the presidency at the National Annual Conference in 2008. As a current NASPA member, you may submit your nomination by sending a letter describing the nominee's achievements, contributions, and resume to:

Seeking Hardee Dissertation of the Year Applicants

The Hardee Dissertation of the Year Award is designed to encourage high-quality research relevant to the field of college student services administration and the general field of student affairs, and to recognize outstanding dissertation research conducted by doctoral degree recipients presently in or intending to enter the student affairs profession.

Requirements: Entrants to the Hardee Award competition must have completed their dissertation and had their degree conferred between September 1, 2005 and August 31, 2006.

Nominate Your Choice for a NASPA National Award

NASPA National Awards honor prominent higher education and student affairs leaders for their contributions to the profession. Any NASPA member may nominate an individual for a NASPA National Award. Please complete the online nomination process for each nominee. Nominations are due November 1, 2006. Nominate a deserving individual today!

CDC Mumps Outbreak Information

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American College Health Association (ACHA) worked this summer to produce information and guidance on decreasing the risk of mumps among college students. Apply for the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll Program is a new initiative designed to recognize institutions of higher education that encourage and support noteworthy student community service efforts. All colleges and universities that made meaningful contributions in service to the community during the past academic year are invited to apply for the Community Service Honor Roll. Of the institutions that apply and are designated to appear on the Honor Roll, a limited number will be selected to receive the President's Higher Education Community Service Award.
