The August issue of the NASPA Forum is now available. This month's issue contains a reminder on the September 9th submission deadline for the 2006 NASPA Conference, a reflection on the MUFP SLI and reports on the successful professional development offerings from the summer of 2005. Don't Wait! September 9th is coming up soon! "Individual Commitment, Collective Action" is the theme for the 2006 NASPA Conference to be held March 11 - 15, 2006 in Washington, DC. New SSAO Institute Early Bird Deadline Approaching!

The New SSAO Institute is a professional development opportunity for newly-appointed senior student affairs officers (SSAOs) to receive training and development critical to their new role. Participants will discuss a variety of topics that they may face while transitioning to their new position, and gain skills and tools with which to address these issues. The Institute also provides valuable opportunities for networking with colleagues. The Institute will be held in Washington, DC October 16 - 18, 2005.  More Info / Register

Applications for the Minority Undergraduate Fellows Program (MUFP) 2005-2006 program year are now available. Applications must be postmarked by September 9, so please start identifying eligible students you think would benefit from the MUFP experience.  More Info

Manicur Symposium - Apply Today!

The 2006 Alice Manicur Symposium for Women Aspiring to be SSAOs will be held January 19 - 22, in Scottsdale, AZ. The Manicur Symposium provides an engaging and supportive environment for women to learn and reflect on their personal and professional aspirations. The Manicur Symposium is offered every two years and is designed for women who are contemplating careers as SSAOs and currently hold mid-level management positions and/or faculty appointments. 2006 SLI Host Institution Application

Colleges and Universities are invited to apply to host the 2006 MUFP Summer Leadership Institute. The SLI provides approximately 30 Fellows with an intensive leadership development experience, aimed at preparing them for student affairs graduate programs and the profession. The SLI will be held the first week of July 2006. The completed application is due November 1, 2005 to NASPA. For further information, please call 202-265-7500 ext 1164 or email mufp@naspa.org

National Forum on Leadership Education: A Focus on Authenticity

NASPA and LeaderShape are proud to announce the first National Forum on Leadership Education to be held December 4 - 6, 2005 at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. This professional development opportunity is specifically designed for Midlevel and Senior Leadership Educators to participate in active learning and dialogue around the ideas of integrity, values, passion, purpose, and collaboration, among other topics.
