2006 NASPA Annual Conference Present at the NASPA Annual Conference: Deadline September 9th

The deadline for submitting program proposals for consideration for the 2006 NASPA conference in Washington D.C. is fast approaching! We encourage you to consider submitting a proposal that explores advocacy, engagement, and action as they relate to "Individual Commitment - Collective Action," the theme of this year's conference. We invite you to visit Conference Website and click on the "Call for Programs" link to learn more about the conference theme and to familiarize yourself with the process of submitting a program proposal (and remember that we are introducing poster sessions at this year's conference - be sure to consider this option as well!). New SSAO Institute Early Bird Deadline This Thursday 9/1!

The New SSAO Institute is a professional development opportunity for newly-appointed senior student affairs officers (SSAOs) to receive training and development critical to their new role. Participants will discuss a variety of topics that they may face while transitioning to their new position, and gain skills and tools with which to address these issues. The Institute also provides valuable opportunities for networking with colleagues. The Institute will be held in Washington, DC October 16 - 18, 2005.  More Info / Register

MUFP Applications Due Next Week - September 9!

Applications for the Minority Undergraduate Fellows Program (MUFP) 2005-2006 program year are now available. Applications must be postmarked by September 9, so please start identifying eligible students you think would benefit from the MUFP experience.  More Info

Dissertation of the Year Applications: Deadline September 16th

Melvene D. Hardee Dissertation of the Year Award applications are now available. This award is designed to encourage high-quality research relevant to the field of student affairs. Entrants must have completed their dissertation and had their degree conferred between September 1, 2004, and August 31, 2005. NASPA Annual Awards: ONLINE PROCESS!

Each year, NASPA honors prominent higher education and student affairs leaders for their contributions to the profession. We have created an entirely Online Process for our Awards this year! The Selections and Awards Committee recommends award nominees to the NASPA Board of Directors for their approval. Upon approval, the awards are presented at NASPA's Annual Awards Luncheon, which takes place during the National Conference. The deadline is approaching! Annual NASPA Award Nomination materials need to be uploaded by November 1, 2005. For descriptions of awards and the online nomination form, please visit the NASPA Web site.  More Info

Mental Health Conference: Call for Programs!

NASPA is seeking innovative and successful programs on student mental health for our second annual conference to be held at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City, CA, January 5 - 7, 2006. Do you have a model program on student mental health? Have you been collaborating with academic affairs, community partners, public safety and/or across student affairs divisions and want to share your program with us?
