A special issue of the NASPA Journal featuring 10 articles on legal issues, judicial affairs, and policy is now available in the members-only section of the Web site. This issue is just one of a number of ongoing collaborations between NASPA and ASJA, and it begins a practice of including articles on legal policies whenever possible in future issues of the Journal. 2006 Conference - Ancillary Request Deadline Approaching!

Nov. 1, 2005 is the deadline for requesting space for meetings and receptions at the annual conference in Washington, DC, March 11-15. Space is limited so reserve space today! We will not be able to accommodate late requests as we've done in previous years. NASPA-CLHE Announce Strategic Partnership

NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education is pleased to announce the formation of a strategic partnership with the Council on Law in Higher Education (CLHE). This partnership recognizes the critical importance of law and public policy issues to student affairs leaders and the need to provide timely information on issues that affect the institutional mission and the day-to-day activities of the institution.

The strategic partnership between NASPA and CLHE will feature collaboration on the existing Student Affairs Law & Policy Weekly and Regulatory Advisor, two excellent publications by CLHE. These publications will now be available to NASPA members at major discounts. Beyond these existing publications, NASPA and CLHE will collaborate on Webinars on key policy issues, a monograph series on student rights and responsibilities, a new online policy and law publication made available to all NASPA members, a new blog for student affairs professionals, a private law and policy listserve, plus much more!

2006 SLI Host Institution Application Due Next Week

Colleges and Universities are invited to apply to host the 2006 MUFP Summer Leadership Institute. The SLI provides approximately 30 Fellows with an intensive leadership development experience, aimed at preparing them for student affairs graduate programs and the profession. The SLI will be held the first week of July 2006. The completed application is due November 1, 2005 to NASPA.  More Info

National Forum on Leadership Education Limited Spaces Left!

NASPA and LeaderShape are proud to announce the first National Forum on Leadership Education to be held December 4 - 6, 2005 at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. Don’t wait! This professional development opportunity is specifically designed for Midlevel and Senior Leadership Educators to participate in active learning and dialogue around the ideas of integrity, values, passion, purpose, and collaboration, among other topics. NASPA Annual Awards: Deadline November 1st

Each year, NASPA honors prominent higher education and student affairs leaders for their contributions to the profession. We have created an entirely online process for our awards this year! The Selections and Awards Committee recommends award nominees to the NASPA Board of Directors for their approval. Upon approval, the awards are presented at NASPA's Annual Awards Luncheon, which takes place during the National Conference. The deadline is approaching! Annual NASPA Award Nomination materials need to be uploaded by November 1, 2005.  More Info

NASPA Excellence Awards Submission Deadline: November 15, 2005

This year, NASPA will recognize the contributions of members who are transforming higher education through outstanding programs, innovative services, and effective administration. All NASPA members are encouraged to enter recently developed and/or longstanding programs and initiatives for consideration for NASPA Excellence Awards.

Entries within each category will be reviewed by a cross-section of experienced NASPA members based upon criteria related to program impact and success. Programs selected for national recognition will receive one of three award designations: Gold, Silver, or Bronze. Winners will be recognized during the NASPA National Conference, March 11 - 15, 2006 in Washington, DC.  More Info

NASPA Multicultural Institute - Register Today!

All-USA College Academic Team

Nominations are open for USA TODAY's All-USA College Academic Team, recognizing outstanding undergraduates nationwide. The 20 students named to the First Team receive $2,500 and are featured in USA TODAY as representatives of all outstanding college students. Judges consider academic excellence, leadership and the student's essay on his or her most outstanding intellectual endeavor. Nominations must be postmarked Nov. 30, 2005.  More Info

Apply to be a LeaderShape Facilitator

LeaderShape is pleased to announce the Cluster Facilitator online application process for the 2006 national sessions of The LeaderShape Institute has begun. We are inviting you to either apply or help us find those individuals interested in developing young adults to lead with integrity. Sexual Harassment on Campus

AAUW will launch a series of campus action projects in January, which will focus on the topic of sexual harassment on campus. We hope to fund 10 projects at $5,000 each. Details about the campus action projects and applications for project funding (due November 15) can be found by clicking here.
