NASPA Excellence Awards Submission Deadline – November 1!

NASPA Excellence Awards recognize the contributions of members who are transforming higher education through outstanding programs, innovative services, and effective administration. The deadline to submit your recently developed and/or longstanding programs for one or more of the nine Excellence Awards categories is Wednesday, November 1! Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards will be selected from each category. Submit a proposal online to have your program considered for one of these prestigious awards.

NASPA National Awards Nomination Deadline – November 1!

NASPA National Awards recognize outstanding higher education and student affairs professionals for their contributions to the field. The deadline to nominate a distinguished professional is Wednesday, November 1! Award categories include, but are not limited to: Outstanding Contribution to Literature and Research; Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member; Outstanding Service to NASPA; and Outstanding Service as a Dean. Any NASPA member may nominate an individual for these awards. Please complete the online nomination process.

Leadership Educators Institute – Early Bird Registration Ends November 3!

The last chance for Leadership Educators Institute early-bird registration is Friday, November 3. The institute offers a creative and informative professional development experience for new and mid-level student affairs professionals. Concurrent session topic areas include leadership development theory, leadership courses, assessment of leadership programs, and cohort leadership programs. Register today! More Info.

Mental Health Conference Call for Programs – Deadline November 3

Collaborations for Improved Mental Health & Wellness on College & University Campuses will take place January 11–13, 2007, in Houston, Texas. The conference planning committee is seeking program proposals to add to the program. The deadline to submit a program is Friday, November 3. Register for this important professional development event on the Mental Health Conference Web page, and learn more about the theme and the areas of interest for program submission topics. The program is co-sponsored by ACCA, AUCCCD, and the Center for College Health & Safety.

Second Spirituality Workshop Date Added!

A second date has been added for the workshop Incorporating Spirituality in College Student Learning and Development. This is your second chance to join esteemed faculty Dr. Arthur Chickering and Dr. Jon Dalton for an intensive professional development program that will examine your institution's climate for student moral and spiritual growth. The workshop will take place January 10–12, 2007, at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. More Information is Coming Soon!.

ACHA-NCHA Workshop

NASPA is a cooperating association for the American College Health Association (ACHA) professional development workshop, Using the ACHA-National College Health Assessment to Examine the Health Status and Health Needs of Your Students. This "back-by-popular-demand" workshop will be held November 30–December 2, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nev. The workshop will include a keynote address by George D. Kuh, Indiana University, Bloomington, plenary and concurrent sessions, and a preview of the new ACHA-NCHA 2007 instrument. Early-bird registration deadline is November 6. More Info
