The Outstanding Parent and Family Relations Institutional Initiative Award

This award recognizes an institution of higher education for achievements in the field of parent and family programs. Awards may be distributed in recognition of an innovative program, improved activities, outstanding assessment, promising practices, and/or enhanced services or communication with parents/families of undergraduate students.

Nominated-programs must demonstrate a significant impact on a college campus that promotes parent and family engagement. Special consideration will be given to creative programs that specifically reach subpopulations of parents and family members of current students (i.e. first-generation, non-English speaking, out-of-state, etc.). Nominated-programs for the award must demonstrate evidence for why the initiative should be considered. A description of the initiative and its impact, as well as a letter of support will be used to select the recipient of this award.

One institution will be selected annually to receive this award and a representative from the institution will be recognized at the NASPA National Conference. PFRKC strongly encourages nominations for the award from all corners of the NASPA organization both from the U.S. and our international ties. Nominators are encouraged to nominate a program or initiative from their home campus. The campus-nominee must be a NASPA member.
