October 7, 2015

NASPA Journal about Women in Higher Education (NJAWHE) invites
New Professional and Graduate Student Review Board applications for 2016–2017.

The editors seek individuals with a strong interest in research and/or practice that focuses on the experiences of women in higher education.  The journal publishes reports of empirical research, book reviews, and program descriptions that represent an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the experiences of and issues facing women in higher education settings.

This New Professional and Graduate Student Review Board will generate a pipeline of reviewers and authors for the journal and is open to individuals who are new professionals (less than five years in the field) and graduate students.  An orientation and quarterly online meetings/trainings will provide support for individuals who would like to learn more about the editorial process and participate in manuscript reviews for the journal.

Requirements:

  • Cover letter describing the applicant’s education, areas of interest (content and methodological), a paragraph describing why the individual is interested in the New Professional and Graduate Student Review Board, and what they hope to gain from the experience
  • Curriculum vitae or résumé

Deadline:

  • Applicants should send materials no later than October 31, via e-mail to Amy Bergerson, Co-Editor in Chief, at [email protected]

If selected, Editorial Board members will be invited to attend an Editorial Board Meeting and training at the 2016 NASPA Annual Conference in Indianapolis, IN.  New Editorial Board members will be notified by mid-November 2015.

Please circulate this call to colleagues and graduate students who may have an interest in joining the NJAWHE New Professional and Graduate Student Review Board.
