If you are considering a volunteer role in NASPA, please consider becoming a Foundation Ambassador!  Due to the responsibilities of the Foundation Ambassador, the person in this role is able to have an impact on multiple areas of NASPA such as Knowledge Communities, Scholarships, Recognition and much more!  Foundation Ambassador responsibilities include:

  • Foster and sustain commitment and loyalty to NASPA, and support its members through mentorship and education about the NASPA Foundation and the benefits of giving.
  • Utilize the identity of the NASPA Foundation to promote existing Foundation programs to members of the association through outreach and education.
  • Communicate to members the connection of the Foundation’s programs and activities with its identity and relationship with NASPA.
  • Support the NASPA Foundation’s marketing plan by coordinating the distribution of communications materials to members of the association at regional meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Contribute to efforts to promote the brand of the NASPA Foundation so that it continues to become more compelling and instantly recognizable by both actual and potential donors.
  • Partner with the Foundation Board Coordinator and Development Officer on establishing a series of educational programs within NASPA’s regions in support of the NASPA Foundation, as well as promoting Foundation campaigns.
  • Participate in the dissemination of the results of studies supported by the Foundation in order to further promote the benefits of giving.
  • Assist in developing a culture of giving within NASPA at the regional level.
  • Partner with the Foundation Development Officer to brainstorm ways to increase the number and variety of planned giving opportunities for members at all levels of the profession.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the annual giving campaign.
  • Participate on a monthly conference call with the Foundation Board Coordinator  and the NASPA Development Officer and  attend an annual planning meeting at the Annual Conference.
  • Represent the NASPA Foundation Ambassadors on the regional advisory board (at the discretion of the Regional Director) and participate in regional conference calls, planning retreats, and regional events and conferences.
  • Participate in Regional conferences (at their own expense) to infuse and promote the Foundation.
  • Accept and record Foundation donations during conference, distribute swag to donors.
  • Promote the Foundation campaign among peers and regional colleagues, especially on social media.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Regional Director and members of the NASPA Foundation Board of Directors who reside in the region.
