The BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA supports collegiate peer educators and advisors by empowering students and student affairs administrators to create campus environments which are healthy and safe.
Over the past few weeks I have read Mixed: Multiracial College Students Tell Their Life Stories (2014) and was extremely pleased with the thought provoking and eye opening narratives that were shared by the many students included in this book. I decided to read this book as a means of furthering my understanding of identity and how students come to understand who they are, but specifically, for individuals who identify as multiracial.
Read about the Jed and Clinton Health Matters Campus Program, a new partnership between the Jed Foundation and the Clinton Health Matters Initiative designed to help campuses promote emotional well-being, reduce substance abuse, and prevent suicide among 18-to-26 year-olds.
After three days of educational sessions, speeches on health and safety, and time spent bonding with new friends, hundreds of peer health educators and their advisors gather for the annual end-of-conference slide show. Every year a high level of excitement surrounds attendance and participation at The BACCHUS Network General Assembly. While exciting to be away from campus, it is likely that General Assembly is the first major conference attended by students from your peer education group and perhaps by some advisors as well. Since not everyone is familiar with professional and positive conference behavior, this article will provide great tips on being an active and engaged learner while representing your school and peer education group well.
