2019 Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (CLDE) Meeting Student Intern Opportunity

In order to encourage student participation in the 2019 Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (CLDE19) Meeting, AASCU’s the American Democracy Project and the NASPA LEAD Initiative are proud to offer the opportunity for three students to have a voice on the planning committee.  This position will enable these students to do the following:

  • organize a student symposium as part of the conference on Wednesday, June 5, 2019;
  • actively promote student engagement in the CLDE19 meeting through blog posts and social media;
  • coordinate student gatherings and programming at CLDE19;
  • volunteer (e.g., at the registration desk) onsite at CLDE19;
  • serve on the monthly planning committee, participating in conference calls, assisting in review of program submissions in February 2019, and working leading up to CLDE19 (likely five hours a month); and
  • additional opportunities will also be made available.

Each of the student interns will receive a complimentary registration to the CLDE19 meeting as well as transferrable work experience.  To apply for this intern position, fill out the application by Thursday, January 31, 2019.  The duration of this commitment will be remote from February, 2019- to June 31, 2019.  Expected work load will be about five hours per week and onsite from June 4-8, 2018, in Fort Lauderdale.
