We are seeking new professionals and graduate students (both master's and doctoral) to apply for leadership opportunities on the 2018-2020 New Professionals and Graduate Student Knowledge Community (NPGS KC) Leadership Team!

Specifically, we would like to help you #MakeYourMark in the NPGS KC in 2018-2020!

Within our 2018-2020 platform/strategic plan (http://bit.ly/NPGSMakeYourMarkPlatform), one of our initiatives involves creating opportunities for you to #MakeYourMark on Professional Associations. This goal entails generating avenues for our membership to become actively engaged in NPGS KC. It is our strong belief that regional and national leadership roles in NASPA and the NPGS KC can assist in furthering professional advancement.

What is the NPGS KC Leadership Team?

The NPGS KC Leadership Team is a group of new professionals and graduate students from different institutions throughout NASPA who strive to further their commitment to our profession by supporting the development of new professionals, as well as master’s and doctoral graduate students. The team works collaboratively to advocate for the needs of new professionals and graduate students on the regional and national level of NASPA. In addition, the team oversees and provides programming, resources, and information to members about regional and national events, professional development opportunities, networking events, research projects and much more.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for individuals who want to contribute to the betterment of graduate students and new professionals through service in NASPA. Leadership team members will utilize their talents to put forth innovative programing, scholarship, and initiatives for members. As a result, NPGS KC leadership team members will gain valuable networking, leadership, and career development opportunities by becoming involved in a premier professional organization. Applicants must be a (incoming or current) graduate student or professional with a NASPA membership.

What are the benefits of getting involved with the KC?

We believe that there are several benefits that come with holding a position in the NPGS Knowledge Community. Benefits include but are not limited to the following:

●       Holding a great leadership experience in a professional association

●       Having the ability to network with colleagues and peers from across the country

●       Engaging in intentional professional development and growth

●       Helping new professionals and graduate students make major contributions to the field of higher education

Interested applicants can apply HERE or login at NASPA’s Volunteer Central. Applications will close on November 15th, 2017. The NPGS KC Co-Chair Elects will then hold a short interview with applicants between November 27th and December 7th.
