As NASPA and The Suder Foundation finalized the Center's establishment, a set of initial strategic priorities were developed to drive early decision-making. Relying upon existing scholarly reserach, relevant literature, effective practice, and data from the First Scholars program, four broad areas, detailed below, emerged as critical to the Center's foundation and early success. As the necessary infrastructure is currently implemented, a national landscape analysis will soon take precedence and findings will be used to revisit and revise these priorities over time. Moreover, establishment of the Center's advisory board, along with constant engagement across the higher education community, will be essential in shaping long-term decisions.
We hope these priorities reflect the needs of your programs and institutions and welcome engagement, feedback, and discourse as the Center evolves.
