It Takes Two to Make a Thing Go Right

May 16, 2016 Jim Hoppe Shana Warkentine Meyer

“It takes two to make a thing go right
It takes two to make it outta sight
Hit it!”  --Rob Base, DJ EZ Rock

Fall 2012.… a beautiful relationship was borne when Regions IV-W and IV-E each appointed a task force to examine the possibility of a joint fall conference.  Original task force members were, for IV-West:  Dusten Crichton, Eric Grospitch, Kris Hess, Sara Mata, Shana Meyer, and Wayne Young.  Region IV-East task force members were Jim Hoppe, Laura Blake Jones, and Peggy Burke.

Fast forward to 2016:  after four years of discussion and planning, West/East has become a reality for what we are calling the “WE” conference.  While our individual regional conferences have always been phenomenal, the WE conference will bring the best of two worlds together—no longer are we individual regions, but we are “we.”  Join us November 15-17, 2016 in Saint Louis, Missouri for the NASPA IV-West and East fall regional conference.  Our committee has been hard at work to provide an amazing experience with a greater colleague base for more networking; increased exhibitors; and a theme of “In the Heart of It All.”

Region IV-West encompasses the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming; and the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan.  Region IV-E is the organizational vehicle to accomplish NASPA's mission within the Great Lakes region with the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin, and the Canadian province of Ontario.  With these 17 states and 3 provinces, the fall 2016 conference will be an amazing experience to see old friends, meet new ones, and re-energize through shared knowledge!

Check out the conference website at: https://www.naspa.org/events/intheheart for more information, including awards submissions, program proposals, and registration, which opens June 1.  We hope to see you in Saint Louis!
