Why did you get into student affairs?
I got into student affairs because I liked being an RA. I have stayed because I rarely have the same day twice!
What do you find meaningful in your work?
My students! My students are preparing to be future elementary school teachers and they are growing and changing every time I see them.
What are you doing to ensure equity and inclusion are part of your everyday practice?
I am constantly reading to learn more about what is happening in the world. I try to bring this knowledge into advising sessions and meetings to challenge my thinking and others when we discuss social justice and equity work.
If you didn't go into student affairs, what profession do you think you would have chosen and why?
Journalism! I would love to just talk to people in hopes of making a change.
If you could have a super power, what would it be and why?
Flying would be pretty cool so I wouldn't have to walk up the hills in Pullman!
What is your favorite non-work weekend activity?
