NASPA IV-W Foundation Goals

Thank you, Region IV-W, for all your support to the NASPA Foundation. Although we didn’t reach both of our goals for 2016-2017, we had the highest level of NASPA member participation in the four years we’ve run #NASPAgives; every single region made either a donor goal or a dollar goal.

Based on feedback and the Foundation’s recent expansion of graduate student scholarships, the Foundation Executive Committee has approved the following changes to the #NASPAgives incentives.

  • Effective immediately, Regions reaching one of the two goals will receive a $500 incentive. Regions reaching both goals will receive a $1,000 incentive.
  • Region IV-W has decided to dedicate the first $500 to regional research initiatives and the second $500 goal, if reached, will go toward graduate student scholarships for regional conference travel.

The incentives are in addition to the new graduate student scholarships the NASPA Foundation is launching: nine $1000 awards for Rhatigan Fellows to attend the NASPA Annual Conference (one from each region and area) and nine $500 awards for graduate students to attend NASPA regional conferences (again, one for each region and area.)

This means, now more than ever, we hope to see your support for the NASPA Foundation. It is imperative to continue to build pathways to the profession for graduate students, and what better way than to be able to offset some of their costs to attend the conferences.

We are excited to be gearing up for the Regional Conference in Lincoln, NE. As your Region IV-W Foundation Ambassadors, David and I are planning some great incentives at all levels of giving! We hope you will engage and support these initiatives, and we look forward to sharing more information as the time comes near.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Amy Sajko who helped promote the NASPA Foundation and support the work of the Ambassadors. She will be missed. We wish her all the best in her future career endeavors.

Let us know how we can help and again, thank you for all your support to Region IV-W!
