National Remembrance Day Roll Call

October 13, 2016 Crisann Hanes Colorado State University

The National Roll Call, an initiative of Eastern Kentucky University, is a Veteran’s Day event to honor those who have served, are currently serving, and those we have lost. The National Roll Call project aims to make Veteran’s Day on every campus a special time of appreciation and reflection.

For the 2016 National Roll Call, participating institutions only need to meet two requirements:

·         Institutions must agree to participate in a nationwide “minute of silence” at 11:00 a.m. PST on Friday, November 11th, 2016.

·         Institutions must conduct a Roll Call of names. The Roll Call should be determined by individual institutions, and may include as many names of service members living or deceased as desired. The structure, duration, and organization of the ceremony should be determined by the individual institution, as well. To truly participate in the National Remembrance Day Roll Call, however, there should be some Roll Call.

To sign up, institutions need to complete the Pledge Form. Institutions who complete a Pledge Form will be provided a list of names of fallen service members.
