NASPA Region IV-W Conference Committee Educational Opportunities Team
June 27, 2018
As we enter the month of July don’t forget to submit your program proposal for the NASPA Region IV-W Conference taking place in Wichita, Kansas, October 23 - 25, 2018. The Deadline to submit your proposals is July 20th. This year’s conference theme is "Reflection Inspires Our Future." The 2018 Region IV-West Conference will allow us time to come together to reflect on the last 100 years of NASPA and look forward to the future of our profession.
Proposals will be evaluated based on content; relevance to the conference theme and the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practitioners; evidence of clearly stated outcomes and objectives; timely topical/content areas; contribution to the knowledge and practice of student affairs; and adherence to program submission guidelines.
General Interest Sessions: Sessions are directly related to the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practitioners or provide an opportunity to showcase programs, strategies, or interventions that have been successful on a particular campus.
Research Sessions: Sessions that include the presentation of one or more research papers, followed by a facilitated discussion of themes and/or findings. Presenters will be contacted to submit an Initial Research Proposal that is 15-20 pages (double-spaced) with references.
Round Table Sessions: Sessions that allow for in-depth discussion related to current events, developing trends, association business, or functional areas.
SA Talks: Similar to a "TED" Talk, these are 15 minute sessions where a presenter speaks on a topic of interest to Student Affairs professionals with a focus on inspiring and encouraging change.
Note: All sessions above will be 50 minutes in length with the exception of "SA Talks" which allow presenters to speak for 15 minutes on the topic of their choice.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to the NASPA Region IV-W Conference Committee Educational Opportunities Team. Our contact info is [email protected] and [email protected]. We look forward to reviewing your proposals and seeing you in Wichita!
