Welcome from Region III Coordinator, Meg Sunga

September 9, 2016

Dear NUFP Fellows,

On behalf of the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program and NASPA Region III, congratulations on your admittance to the program and welcome to the field of student affairs!

My name is Meg Sunga and I am excited to have the opportunity to serve as your Region III NUFP Coordinator! I am currently a Residence Life Coordinator in Housing and Residence Life at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia. Prior to Augusta University, I was a proud Ram and Hall Director for Residence Life and Housing at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). I began my NUFP journey as an undergraduate at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas (wooo pig!) where I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology in 2013.  After getting rejected from my dream graduate school and anxiously awaiting my post undergrad fate, I serendipitously found myself at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida where I served as the NASPA Region III Graduate Student Representative and graduated with my Master’s in Higher Education Administration in 2015.

NASPA, especially NASPA Region III, has been my home since undergrad and it is where I found my voice, my passion, and my purpose in Student Affairs. NUFP has been and will always be family. I cannot even begin to explain how this program changed my life. From making lifelong friends at the Dungy Leadership Institute in 2013 to reconnecting with NUFPs every year at NASPA Annual conferences, I would not be the person I am today without my NUFP fam. It is a transformative experience both personally and professionally and I am thrilled that you are beginning your journey here with me in my beloved NASPA Region III!

As the NUFP Region III Coordinator and proud NUFP alum, I am here to serve as a resource to you and your mentor. I encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities that the program has to offer. I am also excited to learn from you and see you shape your own NUFP journey. I invite you to reach out to me if you have any questions or need any resources as you partake in this experience. I can be contacted at [email protected] or 706-729-2438.

Once again, congratulations and welcome home to the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program! I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Meg Sunga, M.A.
