WISA Announces NASPA Access Grant

The Women in Student Affairs Knowledge Community is proud to announce the opportunity for professional affiliate and student members to apply for access grants to be used toward registration and/or travel costs for the 2018 NASPA Annual Conference. WISA Access Grant

Deadline: Wednesday, January 31, 2018

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be either a NASPA professional affiliate member or student member.
  • In a statement not to exceed 500 words, applicant must:
    • demonstrate how their current or future work is connected to women’s issues and inclusive of women who hold various identities
    • demonstrate how attending the NASPA Annual Conference will support and/or strengthen the impact of their work
    • articulate how their goals for attending the NASPA Annual Conference will contribute to their development within at least one of the NASPA Professional Competencies

Award:

  • Access grant ($500 for NASPA professional affiliate members, $200 for student members) to be used toward attendance at the NASPA Annual Conference. Funds can be used for conference registration, travel to and from the conference, lodging needs during the conference, and meals.
    • Funds cannot be used to cover the cost of alcohol purchases or optional recreational/social activities.
    • Recipients of the Access Grants will work with the NASPA office to utilize these funds.
  • Announcement through WISA KC’s social media, email communication, and other channels.
  • Recognization at the WISA KC Open Meeting at the NASPA Annual Conference.
  • Opportunity to write a blog post for the WISA KC blog after the conference highlighting the learning, sharing, advocacy, networking, and other benefits gained through their conference attendance. (Support from the WISA Blog team provided)

Application Process

  • Online applications and a current resume must be received by the deadline of Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
  • Applications will be reviewed without applicant names by a selection committee comprised of WISA KC Leadership Team members.
  • Applicants will be notified of their status via email in early February 2018.
  • Applicants are expected to reply confirming they meet the criteria for eligibility and accept the grant within one calendar week (7 days) of award notification.
