Waikīkī Historical Walk Story and Community Care
Connect with the ‘āina and join Kumu Hula Mālia Helelā for a walking tour along Kalia Road and Waikīkī beach. Offer ho'okupu and learn about healing practices of the area. Discover more about Waikīkī’s rich history as Mālia shares the story of Kawehewehe and the surrounding fishponds and healing springs that were filled in the 1920s. This thoughtful and insightful walk will challenge participants to seek traces of healing and recovery in the surrounding land and within each individual. Practicing aloha ‘āina, litter collection bags will be provided for light cleanup along the way.

Western Regional Conference 2017 has announced this year's roster. SA Speaks - Student Affairs Speak - are submitted by your peers and selected by your colleagues, these 10-minute talks will offer presenters and participants an innovative look at important topics and a means to spread ideas about how we can change the student affairs profession and transform learning in higher education.
Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement Knowledge Community
The CLDE Knowledge Community is a space for professional development, idea generation, scholarship, and discussion related to the field of civic education and public service. Our goal is to support student affairs professionals as they promote engaged citizenship and student development, encourage democratic participation in their communities, respect and appreciate diversity, and advocate applied learning and social responsibility.
WISC KC presents Candid Conversations at NASPA WRC
Candid Conversations provides an opportunity for professionals who identify as women to be partnered with more experienced women colleagues to have confidential discussions around issues important to them. Topics may include career advice, work/family dynamics, pursuits of advanced degrees, workplace dynamics, or anything else the participants want to discuss. Mentor/Mentee matches are created based on areas of mutual interest and the information provided by the participants when they complete a Profile Form.
Nomination Period Now Open for NASPA Region VI Awards
Each year NASPA recognizes outstanding members by honoring professionals and students through our regional awards. To continue with this tradition, please consider nominating one or more of your Region VI colleagues. Regional award winners will be forwarded for consideration at the national awards level, as applicable. The deadline to submit nominations is August 4, 2017.
