Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the course?
The cost for this course is based on institutional NASPA membership (not individual membership status). For those at a school who is a NASPA institutional member the cost is $23 per student. For non-members the cost is $29 per student. These prices will be in effect through June 30, 2020, at which point they may change.
Can I pre-purchase registrations?
Yes, you may purchase as many registrations as you would like! Pre-purchased registrations must be used no later than December 31, 2020. If you will be using some of your registrations after June 30, 2020, please email email@example.com as the access instructions may change at that point.
If I purchase registrations now, how can I purchase more seats later on?
After your initial purchase of Virtual CPE registrations, the course should appear in your My Events section once logged in to your NASPA profile. From here, you should see the option to Edit your registration. This is how you may purchase additional seats. If you are having trouble with this process please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How is the course set up?
This is a self-paced, fully online course. Students can go through the material on their own and at their own pace, taking breaks as needed. Content is delivered through video lectures recorded by NASPA staff, with regular opportunities for students to apply knowledge and engage in reflection through quizzes, surveys, and short response questions.
How long does the course take?
The course should take students approximately 8-10 total hours to complete, given that they view all the videos and complete all activites thoughtfully and as instructed. Keep in mind that progress in the course will be saved, so students are encouraged to log out, take a break, and come back later or on another day and pick up where they left off.
What content is covered in the course?
The content for this version of the CPE course is the same as the content of an in-person, live CPE training (see list of included modules below). Many activities have been modified to fit the asynchronous delivery of the course, however the information presented has not changed.

Do students need workbooks for this course?
No! Any worksheets or materials from the CPE workbook that are referenced or used in the Virtual CPE Training will be available within the course for download as stand-alone resources.
How does one access the course?
After completing your purchase you will receive access instructions via email, to the address associated with your NASPA account. If you didn't receive these or need them re-sent, please contact email@example.com.
I am an advisor. How will I know that my student(s) have completed the course and passed the certification exam?
Unfortunately, since this course will be shared by students from many different institutions, you will not be able to log in and view their grades or progress yourself. We recommend you ask that your students download their certificate of completion when they pass the exam and email it to you as a way to verify that they completed the course.
If I already purchased workbooks, can I transfer those over to spots for the Virtual CPE Training?
