The landscape for Student Affairs has changed significantly and continues to evolve. While our profession’s commitment remains strong, our theories and practices are, at times, falling short in meeting our current and future student needs. As a result, we must start doing things differently!
The 2018 NASPA Western Regional Conference (WRC) will begin a new conversation about the ways that we can transform our work. This year’s theme of New Pathways for New Students centers on a professional development experience that will ignite our creativity, challenge us to think differently, and encourage us to understand how to better serve our changing student populations. Through a conference common read text, thoughtful pre-conference institutes, dynamic major speakers, motivational SASpeaks talks, and insightful concurrent sessions, this conference will also equip Student Affairs professionals and scholars with real-life tools/strategies that they can implement back on their campus.
Plan on joining NASPA in Sacramento, California, one of the country’s most diverse cities and capitol of the world’s fifth largest economy, as we chart a new path along the front lines of higher education’s future. In a time when innovation and change are the new normal at both community colleges and four-year institutions, it is important, now more than ever, for Student Affairs to take the lead and start the transformation of higher education to ensure the continued success of our students.
