MENASA NASPA Afternoon Pre-Conference Workshop: Intercultural Competencies as a framework in Student Affairs

View More Details

How do we as educators outside the classroom play a prominent, intentional and purposeful role in ensuring that we are genuine stakeholders in the holistic education of students? Intercultural competencies is the ability to develop targeted knowledge, skills and attitudes that lead to visible behavior and communication that are both effective and appropriate in intercultural interactions (Deardorff, 2006). This session will address how student affairs’ professionals in the area of student life can use these competencies as a framework in the creation of policies, programs and critical reflection.

Presenter: Dr. Reetha Raveendran, Yale-NUS College
