The Coalition of Colorado Campus Alcohol and Drug Educators (CADE) Invites Colorado collegiate prevention teams to the CADE Winter Training along with CPE training and respondent services training. It will take place in Denver, Colorado on January 28-29 2021. Students will participate and receive the Certified Peer Educator training certification while staff/advisors will receive the CPE Train the Trainer Certification in addition to a respondents services training.
This event will follow all CDC and local guidelines around Covid-19. Please check back often for updates

Students
Over the two days, students will go through CPE training. CPE training is an effective strategy for building a well-educated and sustainable peer education group. CPE Training helps peer educators develop leadership skills to be able to successfully create and implement campus programs. The training includes eight modules, covering the role of peer education, helping peers make a behavior change, listening skills, response and referral skills, how to take action and intervene, recognizing the role of diversity and inclusivity, programming and presentation skills, self-care, and group dynamics.

Professionals
Professionals will go through CPE Train-the-Trainer on Friday and then Respondent Services Training on Saturday.
CPE Train-the-Trainer is a great course for campus staff members to learn about the CPE Program and what they can expect when undertaking course facilitation. Led by NASPA Staff, trainers will explore the history of peer education, witness the training curriculum, and learn more about how to facilitate the program on their campus. Upon successful completion, facilitators will be able to access the training materials for their students through our virtual classroom, as well as a facilitation guide to aid them in their on-campus trainings.

Based on data from a national landscape survey, NASPA is excited to offer this drive-in training on implementing services and providing resources to responding parties involved in sexual misconduct cases at your institution. Presenters will explore the myriad factors to consider when providing equitable services and participants will engage in discussions about what specific duties respondent services personnel have in helping a responding party navigate the investigation, interim measures, sanctioning, and re-entry processes. Presenters will help participants understand the importance of creating clear distinctions between survivor advocacy services and respondent support services to prevent re-traumatization of survivors while creating equitable systems of support.

All participants at NASPA in-person conferences, whether a presenter, attendee, exhibitor, staff, guest, or vendor will be required to be fully vaccinated. Individuals who are not vaccinated will be required to provide documentation of a negative PCR test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival to any event.
