Amjad Abdo currently works at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, one of the American international branch campuses located in the Middle East. Amjad earned his B.A. from Le Moyne College in New York, M.S. from Syracuse University in New York, and his doctorate at Rowan University in New Jersey.
Amjad has 18 years of higher education experience inside the United States and in the Middle East. His experiences at six higher education institutions (public, private, religious-affiliated) included the following professional areas: Residence Life/Housing, Student Life, Student Activities & Events, Student Leadership Development, New Student Orientation, Judicial Affairs, Athletics, International Students Services, Academic Support Services, Career Services, and Academic Advising. In addition, Amjad collaborated with colleagues in Counseling, Health Services, Multicultural Education, Dining Services, Facility Management, and Public Safety on many shared projects relating to student services and programs.
Furthermore, Amjad had the opportunity to work closely with faculty members, from various academic disciplines, to plan and implement First Year Experience, Living Learning Communities, Service-Learning programs, and Academic support initiatives. Finally, Amjad had the opportunity to teach several college courses focused on diversity, intercultural communication, global awareness and citizenship, and leadership education”.
