Anna Y. M. Brochet is a counseling faculty member at El Camino College in the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) department, serving low-income, first-generation community college students. Prior to this, she coordinated the Health Professions Advising Office at CSULB supporting underrepresented STEM students navigate the pathway to graduate professional programs. Anna has over 12 years of professional experience in promoting access and success for underrepresented students through programmatic and policy efforts. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from UCLA and both her Master’s degree in Counseling – Student Development in Higher Education and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership are from CSU Long Beach. Her research interests include reducing racial and socioeconomic inequalities in higher education, postsecondary access, college affordability, financial aid, and community colleges.
