Dr. Hephner LaBanc proudly serves the students and staff of The University of Mississippi as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. In this role she has oversight for 16 diverse enrollment and student affairs departments.
Dr. Hephner LaBanc received her Ed.D. from Northern Illinois University (NIU). Before joining The University of Mississippi, she served as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Assistant Vice President for Planning & Operations at NIU. In addition to her time at NIU, Hephner LaBanc’s background includes an accounting degree from The University of Akron prior to graduate study in Higher Education Administration at Kent State University. Since that time, she has served students in multiple administrative roles at Arizona State University, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Baldwin-Wallace College, and The University of Akron.
In addition to serving as Vice Chancellor at Ole Miss, Hephner LaBanc serves as Professor in the Higher Education department. She is highly committed to the holistic development of all students and strives to nurture a scholar-practitioner culture in her work environment. Her research focuses on preparation of student affairs professionals and transition issues for graduate students, and she has published work related to campus crisis management and concealed carry legislation’s impact on higher education.
